Spain produced more than 274,000 metric tons of aquaculture products in 2025, with fish accounting for 83% of the value

In 2025, Spain’s commercial aquaculture sector produced a total of 274,111.83 metric tons of market-size species, with a first-sale value of 883.56 million euros.

Data published by the Secretariat of the National Advisory Board on Marine Aquaculture (JACUMAR) show a sector with two clearly distinct pillars: mollusks account for the majority of the volume, while fish account for the bulk of the economic value.
